L'Oumigmag is a jazz and avant-garde quintet based in Quebec. The group is renowned for its innovative and resolutely creative approach, offering a new sound that combines the roots of Quebec fiddle music with exhilarating grooves.
The group's diverse influences, including Portico Quartet, The Gloaming and Nik Bärtsch, result in music that is immersive, contemplative and energising.

The ensemble, under the direction of drummer Ivan Bamford, draws on the many influences and inspirations of its members, with the late saxophonist Thomas Chapin as a particularly significant influence. This recording features three previously unrecorded compositions by Chapin, which were generously entrusted to Bamford and his colleagues by Chapin's wife, Terri Castillo-Chapin.

Black Ox Orkestar has been reinventing non-nationalist traditions of Jewish music since its formation in a Montreal living room in the summer of the year 2000. Seven years of intense activity saw them deeply ensconced in the Montreal music scene, working with many collaborators and performing regularly, from New Year’s dance shows to benefits for Algerian and Palestinian refugees. Original members Scott Gilmore (vocals, cymbalom, piano, guitar & percussion), Gabriel Levine (clarinets, guitar), and Jessica Moss (violin) are now joined by Stéphane Diamantakiou (double bass, electronics). The band places themselves in an artistic and political lineage that embraces a diasporic Jewish identity, a politics of solidarity with migrants and exiles, a multilingualism inspired by Yiddish modernism, and an approach to tradition as a springboard for musical and lyrical experimentation.

Everything blends with fluidity, articulation, and grace,” wrote DownBeat magazine about Dust, the 2025 release by Dream Keepers. Formed in 2021 by vocalist Ayelet Rose Gottlieb — born in Jerusalem and based in Montréal — the quartet brings together Stéphane Diamantakiou (double bass), Bernard Falaise (guitar and electronics), and Hamin Honari (Persian percussion).

Together, they craft a sound world where Persian rhythms, Jewish melodies, rock energy, and jazz openness intertwine. Dust gives voice to poetry in seven languages — English, French, Ladino, Arabic, Hebrew, Yiddish, and Farsi — weaving luminous threads between cultures, stories, and sonic traditions
