The use of the word dub in a recording context originated in the late 1920s with the advent of "talking pictures" and referred to adding a soundtrack to a film; it is an informal abbreviation of the word double.

Approximately seven years ago, I developed a profound interest in dub music. Prior to this, I had already developed an interest in music, and projects such as Dub Trio or Bill Laswell and Jah Wobble were already exerting a strong influence on me. In this instance, I undertook an in-depth study of the historical context, sonic characteristics, and technical approaches of key figures such as Lee "Scratch" Perry, King Tubby, and Scientist. I elected to pursue the creation of a remix, with the objective of presenting two distinct interpretations of a singular musical concept within an entirely original musical context. My primary focus was on the techniques and effects utilized, rather than on the specific musical style. Consequently, Le Double incorporates elements of dark ambient, post-rock, and amplified jazz.
I have adopted certain formulas or musical ideas, which I have then superimposed with influences that are either more or less distant.

Le Double combines the codes and techniques of dub music with those of jazz and post-rock, including ambient and noise. The group's performances showcase two distinct interpretations of the same repertoire: one emphasizes collective sound and improvisation, while the other reimagines the first using sampling and layering techniques inspired by dub pioneers.

Le Double, led by bassist and composer Stéphane Diamantakiou, creates a cinematic sonic experience by merging organic and synthetic sounds.

The group's commitment to exceptional sound is evident in their compositions, which feature long narratives, crafted writing, and unbridled improvisations.

The audience is captivated by their bold vision, executed with uncommon technical and artistic brilliance.
